I bought a small package of real miniature pumpkins for a few dollars and have been having great fun creating all kinds of pumpkins this fall. I shared a picture of this guy after getting a minty paint job on Instagram and was asking for ideas. The resounding answer was gold.
Well, since gold is my number one go-to color, GOLD IT WAS. Today I am sharing how to create this adorable No Carve mint green + gold pumpkin.
What supplies do I need to make a no carve painted pumpkin?
- A pumpkin (real or faux)
- Mint Green Chalk Paint
- Acrylic Grass Green Paint
- Craft Paint Brush
- Gold Leafing Paint Pen
No Carve Pumpkin Decorating Ideas
When creating a no carve pumpkin it is always best to start by doing a little brainstorming idea session. Coming up with a plan will help you bring your vision to reality!
Here are a few fun no carve pumpkin ideas –
How to make a Painted No Carve Pumpkin
The first step of my mint green and gold painted pumpkin is gathering your paint colors and a paint brush.
The mint green paint I used is actually mint green chalk paint. I love the color of this green paint and the gorgeous matte finish that using chalk paint gives. I then painted the stem in a soft grass green acrylic paint for a fun contrast.
Adding Pumpkin Polka Dots
Next, I drew a single dot on every other pumpkin section using a gold paint pen. I placed the dots a little below the halfway point on the pumpkin. These would become the lowest dots in my design. You can see in the graphic below I showed where I divided my pumpkin.
I slowly started filling in the pattern with my gold foil paint pen. I misplaced the location of a few gold polka dots, but with a few strokes of the mint green paint – they were erased and could be painted again.
Modern Mint Green Pumpkin
I love love how this mint green pumpkin turned out, he is just soo minty fresh!
When creating a modern looking pumpkin, I think it’s fun to use similar colors. In this case, painting the pumpkin a soft mint green and then adding a bright bold apple green paint for the stem really gives the entire pumpkin a more mod vibe!
I wish I would have used a faux pumpkin, so I could have him for next year.
