I really love a good pumpkin DIY like my Geometric Bean Pumpkin, Floral Felt Pumpkin, (real) Flower Pumpkin and my DIY Mini Solar Pumpkin Light!

Although, as much as I adore real pumpkins and having them out on our front patio, a fun faux pumpkin craft project really excites me!

This year I transformed an orange faux pumpkin from Oriental Trading into the most lovely Simple Tassel Pumpkin and I can’t wait to share how to make one for yourself!

First of all, can we talk about how precious mini tassels are?  These little guys are about an inch in length so they are perfect for layering on a pumpkin.

There is such a wide variety of colored tassels to pick from and I ended up using a mix of colors from three basic palettes – pink, purple and red.

Start by making a light pencil line around the entire pumpkin to keep your tassels straight and even. Then begin to slowly hot glue the tassels to the pumpkin.

After you have glued tassels around the entire pumpkin, it’s time to do your next row! I did purple and a bright pink tassel for my next row of tassels.

Make sure when you are deciding on your spacing that you place the tassels low enough that they cover the top gold hoop of the tassel.

The final row of tassels I added were a soft pink and gold color.

In addition to my tassel pumpkin, I had such fun recreating the same exact colors in sand for little mini sand art pumpkins!

How darling these turned out and in the same colors – I just love them and this was my first sand art project I’ve ever done. However, it won’t be my last! (Did you see my Sand Art pens project?!!)
