Supplies to draw a cute Halloween bat

How to draw a cute Halloween Bat

Start with an elongated heart shape. Draw a long skinny heart to form the bat’s body.

Next, add the wings. From the top corners of the heart, draw two long, curving lines extending downwards. These are the tops of the bat’s wings. Make three narrow moon type shapes to connect the wing tips to the near bottom of the heart (bat’s body).

Draw the head. At the top of the heart, draw a small circle for the bat’s head.

From the top of the head – draw two small, pointed triangles to make the bat’s ears.

Draw the eyes. On the head, draw two circular shaped eyes with big pupils.

Add the mouth. Draw a small, curved line beneath the eyes for the bat’s mouth and two small triangles for fangs.

Detail the wings. To give the wings a little more depth, add a few curved lines along the bottom of the wings.

Add color to bat

Use colored pencils, markers or paint to add color to your bat. I used procreate to make my bat graphic, but I want to make this entire scene all over again in my sketchbook using pencil, watercolor and a bit of colored pencil.

Draw a spooky background like a moonlit night, an old house or pumpkins all around.
