Happy Friday, friends! I've said it before and I'll say it again -- sometimes it's the simple things that make the biggest impact. Today I am sharing how I took a perfectly fine and useable desk lamp and with a few swipes of spray paint gave it a new life! I'm calling it my Desk Lamp Revival.
I got this desk lamp from Target many many years ago. And until a handful of months ago, it worked just perfectly in my green office space. Now that I am updating the room with whites, it sticks out. I'm trying to repurpose items and not just go buy all new even though that would be fun!
My first step was to wrap the cord, metal rod and the neck of the lamp in aluminum foil. I shared this painting tip on my Updated Fan post and was surprised how many people loved this idea! Peeps, it's waaaaay easier than painters tape. Painter's tape rocks on walls and when you need crisp clean lines, but for projects like this with crazy shapes, foil is the way to go.
I'm currently so in love with *Flat White spray paint. I adore it's dull matte look.
Enter painter's tape for some nice crisp lines.
And of course, my favorite *gold foil paint pen.
I also painted the handle and switch in gold.
I could hardly believe this little guy was green underneath.
