Nothing says summer to me like time spent at the pool, enjoying all the delicious fresh summer fruit and being outdoors playing with plants every moment you can. Give me a peach or a mango during the summer heat and suddenly everything seems better in the world.
Today I am sharing how to paint and create these fun and festive Summer Fruit Mason Jar centerpieces. They are perfect for holding delicious sweet treats, a fun party centerpiece or to send home with friends!
I don’t know about you, but although I have probably said it many times – I love miniature things. When I saw these precious miniature fruit erasers, I quickly fell in in deep love and knew I would be highlighting them in this quick craft project!
This project is very inexpensive as you can use any old glass vase or jar. Even a thrifted jar with a screw on lid will work!
Supplies for crafting Fruit Mason Jars
- Mason Jars
- Acrylic Paint + paint brush
- Fruit Erasers (more unique fruit erasers)
- Hot Glue
- Fruit Pencil Sharpeners (decoration)
How to paint a Mason Jar
I decided to make limes, pineapples and watermelons for this fun craft project. So once you have decided which fruit you would like to create for your centerpiece, you can begin the first coat of paint – I used mint green, a soft but cheerful yellow and a pink and coral red paint color.
Each of the Mason jars took about two coats of paint for a solid clean look.
Create a fruit centerpiece
You can add additional details once the main paint color has dried, for example I added black watermelon seeds, pineapple checks and lime peel details.
Once you have finished painting the jars, you can add the fun eraser fruit to the lids!
Grab your hot glue gun and have fun with creating mini fruit masterpieces!
I used a combination mini fruit erasers to fill the top of my lid and secured with hot glue. It was fun to mix and match all the bright colors.
Once the fruit is all secured to the top of your Mason jars you can setup the remainder of your centerpiece! I loved setting out a few of the fruit pencil sharpeners and leftover erasers on the table for an added festive look!
I filled up the jars with hard candies so after the party is over, the Mason jars could go home with guests and inside they would find tasty little treats!
Summer Centerpiece decor
These adorable summer centerpieces are just the most darling. They are fun for kids and adults alike. And we have been enjoying the leftover fruit candies for weeks, they really taste great.
