Cozy Craft space

Welcome back to the home of my friend, Jill.  She will be sharing her cozy craft space!

Jill has recently launched her own online landscape architecture design business called Brown Green & More.  She is offering something that is fairly rare for landscape architects; two online resources, a landscape coach and a landscape design.  The beauty of her biz is these services can be done remotely from her computer to your backyard! Check out her website here.

Jill shares, “Three boys, their parents, and two big dogs make a lot happen behind closed doors of our 1,400sf New Mexico home. We strive to live clutter free but every home has stuff.”

Now, let’s take a peek into her master bedroom closet/craft space…

Delineate Your Dwelling

Q: Do you use this space for sewing only or does other crafting happen in this area?Any DIY that will fit on the desk gets crafted here but mostly gifts. Clutch purses, pillow dresses, superhero capes, outdoor exploring bags, and growler cozies have been some of my favorites.  A lot of sewing happens here from basic patching and button replacing to creating gifts. Who wouldn’t want to sew on this beautiful machine!

Furniture with dual purposes is essential: the rolling ottoman in the master bedroom sewing closet also holds the family’s files.

Q: What is your biggest help in keeping everything organized?

Everything in it’s place. I strive to have a place for everything and then keep to the system. With three kids, it’s the only way to maintain my sanity. They are slowly adapting to the system but I find the younger ones figure it out quickly.
Thank you Jill for sharing your great ideas for this crafting space.  Be sure to check out her other great landscape architecture ideas on her website, as well!

  3. What a wonderful space, small but full of life and creativity. Looks great. I would love for you to share at the Bacon Time linky, if you have not already. Happy Sunday.

  4. This is sooo cool! I love the idea of making the most out a small space! What great ideas! Thanks for stopping by and linking up your AWESOMENESS!! <3 Andie (Be.YOU.tiful Link Party)

  5. What a great little spot you have! I had a Sears Kenmore for years and made just about everything my children wore (and me, too) on that machine. When I started a sewing business, we upgraded my machine to a Bernina and I’ve been sewing on that one for 30+ years. If you buy good quality, they will last!

  6. What a great use of space. I think my husband wishes I would craft in the closet and not at the kitchen island while trying to get dinner ready…ha! Thanks for sharing at The Makers Amy!

    1. I totally know what you mean, Corey. There is no way I could ever keep all my crafting to one space… I just take over the entire house, ha!
