DIY Mini Pumpkin Night Solar Outdoor Lights

Are you ready for one of the cutest and most simple Halloween craft projects? Not only did I make 5 in a quick afternoon, but it’s so budget friendly coming in at $2 for one light! You really can not beat that.

So let’s get into how to make these adorable Mini Pumpkin solar lights!
What supplies are needed to make Pumpkin Solar lights?
- Solar Lights (I got mine at Walmart for a dollar a piece)
- Mini White pumpkins (You can use multi color or orange)
- Cordless Drill + Spade bits
- Utility Knife
- Hot Glue
- Sharpie
- Ribbon
How to create a Solar Pumpkin Light
The first step in making a night time solar pumpkin light is purchasing a single or pack of solar lights. I got mine from Walmart for a dollar each, but there are numerous styles and colors on Amazon and various other locations.
Remove post
If possible, separate your solar light from the light post. Mine was as simple as a gentle tug to pull apart.
Trace post
Turn your mini pumpkin over and trace the light post onto the bottom with a sharpie marker.
Drill hole in bottom
Using a cordless drill and a spade bit (not shown below), drill your hole to fit the light pole size.
This should take just a few seconds of time.
Secure the light with glue
Fit the light pole into the pumpkin base hole and place the light back on. Once assembled, add some hot glue to the bottom of your light and pull down into the pumpkin.
Your light should gently rest on the bottom of the pumpkin. Add some decorative ribbon and add a bow for an extra cute look.

These solar pumpkin lights are so easy to make and my goodness are they a fun add to your yard!
I was so surprised when the sun went down and my mini white pumpkins turned into the perfect orange glow!
I would love to add a little more to the top of my pumpkin like florals or even a hat, but I needed keep the top open and clear so the solar panel could continue to recharge.
Even placing the pumpkin lights in potted plants is a fun look! I love the orange glow with my darling purple flowers.
I even snuck one pumpkin into my raised vegetable garden and low how it looked! The perfect fall glow all season long.
