I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time. Today is the day I get the honor of sharing a gorgeous little girl’s nursery with you. Today is my friend’s sweet Baby Girl’s Nursery Open House day!
Cali, is so creative and I wish we lived closer. I sat down and thought about it and we’ve only even hung out a handful of times (we live states apart), but she and her hub are just the kind of awesome people that you are good friends with instantly. Here she is with her adorable little Baby Girl.
Q – What was your inspiration for this room?
Delineate Your Dwelling readers, it’s a joy to share with you our nursery for our sweet baby, Emma Louise!
There was a lot of planning before a penny was spent on this room. Planning was my favorite part. Executing it… was the hardest. Here is an image I used for the overall feel and color palette I was wanting.
Nursery Room DIY projects
What was your favorite DIY in the room?
My favorite DIY is the mobile that hangs over our little girl’s crib. The yarns and fabrics that I choose for it are like my life colors.
However, everyone that comes into our little girl’s room comments on the reimagined yarn covered stool that used to be my Grandma’s.
I spray paint the stool base with gold paint and then wrapped the old cushion with all my favorite yarn colors! It’s a simple way a piece of my Grandma can live on in my daughter’s bedroom.
Tell us a little bit about that stunning dark wall.
I was somewhat bummed that the paint color we tried matching was not as black as I anticipated. I can’t complain though, thanks to the in-laws and my husband, the room was painted to perfection.
I was inspired by many room layouts I saw on Land of Nod and Pinterest.
What other paint colors did you use in the nursery?
We used Valspar Garden Flower and Starless Night by Behr.
What a perfect gallery wall layout. And I just love the gold mirrored LOVE letters.
Could you tell us a little bit about that paper garland hanging over your floor lamp?
My best friend and baby shower hostess, Brienn had all the ladies attending write a special prayer for baby/our family. I’ll never forget the moment I read them all while laying on the new nursery rug with a big belly just ballin my eyes out because of the prayers of those who love us.
I hung it on the lamp temporarily but it means too much to me to place it elsewhere. It’s a reminder to me of God’s provision for us!
This neutral baby girl’s room is a perfect combination of trendy and creative. I love how the dark walls help balance out the pops of color in decor details.
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful room with us today, Cali! Now go and enjoy that new precious baby girl.
