Today is Knock Off Knock Out day! Our inspiration store is Zara Home. The first of each month, five bloggers all share a knock off project from a pre-selected home decor store. Be sure to check at the bottom of this post for the other amazing projects from Zara Home!
Our first month’s knock off was West Elm (see my Abstract Geo print here).
I must be losing my ‘cool’ because I had never even heard of Zara Home. But, after checking it out for this month’s challenge, it’s a wonderful store with so many lovely items in it. You should definitely take a few moments to check them out.
For this knock off, I went with their *Fruit and Flower frame. It came in at a reasonable $26, but I still knew I could make it for less.

Buttons and/or miniature fruits and flowers (I bought mine at various craft stores)
Simple frame
White Spray Paint
Hot.Glue
I set out all my little fruits and flowers and gave everything a few good coats of Spray Paint.
Then, I started placing the items around the frame using my hot.glue gun. Certain items (mushrooms for example), I only had a few of, so I placed those on opposing sides and filled in as needed.
Zara Home’s frame doesn’t have an image in it, but I wanted to add one to mine. I spray painted the canvas that came with my frame a dark golden color. Then, I glued a rectangular chalkboard to it. With some chalk, I drew on the ampersand and border. Very simple but graphic.
After working on this project, it really opens your eyes to all the random items you could affix to a picture frame, spray paint all the same and get the same look.
Have you made a frame like this before?

This would be pretty made with sea shells.
Oh, sea shells are a great idea!

Oh my gosh! Amy that is too cute! You’ve got my wheels turning now. Oh how fun!
Thanks for sharing your “knock-off” with us at Project Inspire{d}!
Love this idea. I’ve actually bought my kids clothes from Zara, but I haven’t bought anything from their home line. Will have to go back and check them out.
Cute! I bet you could do this with stuff you have around the house too. I like that since they’re all painted white, it makes it cohesive even if the items themselves don’t match.
Wow! I’m impressed!
Thanks for linking up with the Caffeinated Crafters link party!
Adorable! Love the roses, especially. It would never have occurred to me to try affixing so many different shapes and textures . . . very cute!
What a cool idea. Looks fantastic. Great job.
This is super cute, Amy!
You are so creative! I love this idea! I’ve always passed the isle with all those little trinkets and wondered what they could be used for! Now I know!! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

Hi Amy! Wow! Not in a million years would have I know those were not actual seashells. Another fantastic way to use spray paint!!!! Fabulous project. Pinning and sharing!

Fruit and floral… my goodness. SO cute, Amy!
Love this! I’m thinking it could be pretty cute in my little guy’s room with random cars (or the broken ones!) and legos. Super fun. Thanks, Amy!
How fun Amy! There are so many ways to customize this – I have lots of ideas now 🙂
