I am drawn to all things miniature and small in size.  When I found out the Oriental Trading craft supply this month would be small 4″ square Canvases, I was thrilled about the possibilities.  Today I am sharing how to use a simple embroidery technique to create Colorful Embroidered DIY Canvas.

"H" Embroidered Art

Canvases are such versatile products.  I love that you can group them together to create a bigger shapes, or in this case words, for a larger impact.

After you mix in fun cheery colors of paint and embroidered string, the options for your design or word are simply endless!

HOPE Embroidered DIY Canvas Art

For this project, I wrote out the word “HOPE”, but you could create other fun patterns or shapes, too. I did another fun embroidery project, a DIY Photo Embroidered Tote Bag. That was a cool look because I transferred an image to my tote bag and then added embroidery over top.

To see the full supply list for these HOPE letters, be sure to head to Oriental Trading’s blog.

  2. This is genius Amy – I never would have thought to use mini canvases this way. I’d love to do this for the nursery once our bub is born, it’d be super cute with her name written on them!
