I always enjoy setting a lovely table for Thanksgiving and today I am sharing two very simple DIYs I made for this tablescape, a dropcloth table runner and easy colored plates.

How to make a DIY Dropcloth Table Runner for Thanksgiving:

I am forever on the look out for that “perfect” tablecloth and never can quite find the one that I like.  After completing this dropcloth table runner, I may never buy another tablecloth again!

1. Cut your dropcloth to size and layout painters tape in your chosen pattern.

2. Cover any areas that you want to leave natural and apply two to three coats of paint.  I used my favorite gold color, Rustoleum Metallic Gold spray paint.  Allow to dry and it is ready for use!

How to make DIY Colored Plates for Thanksgiving:

My other DIY are these easy colored plates.  There are so many fun applications of this idea, but I was going for a more simplified look on this tablescape layout.

1. Purchase simple clear plastic plates.

2. Flip the plate over and apply your paint to the underside of the plate.  My plates had a slight rim so it was easy to keep a clean line.

3. Allow to dry and apply at least one more coat of paint for a nice saturated color.

How to set a rustic DIY Thanksgiving table setting:

I was really excited for this tablescape for a few reasons.  I am loving all things metallic right now and I was able to incorporate gold, copper and a little bit of silver (mini disco ball drink stirs).  I also was able to use my new favorite emerald green color as an accent.

I enjoy creating special places for wonderful meals, but I also know my Thanksgiving guests are a range of ages so it needs to be simple, not too fussy but still have a festive fall feel.

I am in love with these gold glittered pinecones and think they are a wonderful centerpiece.

I found this Rose Gold flatware set at Target and almost started doing cartwheels down the aisles.  At only $5 for a set, it was a steal.

Thanksgiving Clay Garlands are a fun touch to the table, too!
