Last year starting in early January, I got the Valentine’s Day bug in a big way.  I have never ever ever made pink and red crafts… and last year, I made five or six.  I’m not sure what came over me, but this year I’m feeling much more… me, ha.

How to create geometric heart art

The first step to creating geometric heart art is to draw out a heart with straight edges. Once you have the basic shape, you can add interior line work to makeup the different zones for each color and material you plan to use.

Next, start filling in all the different shapes of your heart.

I started with the copper and gold foil paint pens.

Then, I cut out the shapes from my different tapes. I used a Champagne colored Glitter Tape and a fun Wood Tape.

Then I painted in a few sections and added mod podge and gold glitter to the last section.

I decided I wanted a black matte background, so I went with a Chalkboard Paint to create that look.

Then, I hot glued a small rope to the back to hang.

Mixed Media Heart

I love how this mixed media heart projects turned out. Having it set against the black background really makes the colors and textures pop!
