I love making organized spaces pretty, also!  Today I am sharing my Kid’s Room Makeover : Dress Up Burlap Bunting that I made to hang over the space.

After their cluttered space was calling out to me, I finally got around to doing a huge overhaul to their room.  I’ve since highlighted their organized and painted closet and then the shadow boxes I created to hold their baby onesies.
Their dress up area holds such fun imaginary play for them both!  We have fairy wings, cooking aprons, ballerina tutus, dinosaur hats, a fireman outfit and a few pair of high heels.  Update: we now have triple the dress up and this still functions perfectly!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE Dress Up Burlap Bunting :
burlap bunting  | pom pom + bakers twine | scrapbook paper for the letters

I used a hot.glue gun to secure the baker’s twine and pom pom ribbon along the top of my bunting.  This held the burlap together.
Using my Silhouette Printer I cut out simple letters to spell out “DRESS UP”.  This could easily be done without a silhouette printer.  By printing out the letters on a regular printer, you could cut them out a trace onto scrapbook paper.

I attached the letters with hot.glue.

This dress up area fits so perfectly in that odd space behind their door.  It’s hidden out of the main flow of traffic, so easy to access for them at any point.
I can’t wait to show the final items of this room makeover.  Be sure to check back for the adorable chalkboard toy storage labels!

  1. Great blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you suggest starting with a free platform like
Wordpress or go for a paid option? There are so many options
out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
    Any suggestions? Cheers!
