IKEA Kiddo Desk
INSIDE : Find simple ways on how to customize your IKEA Kiddo Desks.
I recently purchased two white IKEA desks for my kiddos. They have loved having a space to color, do play-doh and have snacks. I have such fond memories when I was young of having my very own desk, so I was really excited to get them.
I have been working up a few upgrades for the desks and I’m really excited to share a few of my IKEA Kiddo Desk plans.
I’ve been wanting to paint something in my home using the “dip dyeing furniture” trend, but I am having a hard time fully committing to colors. {DIP DYEING : verb [with obj] immerse typically the lower portion of furniture in paint to color it}
Instead I added Washi Tape to one leg on each desk. This way, I can change up the colors and design whenever I want. So simple, I used tape I already owned and it took five minutes.
Win. Win. Win.
After much back and forth, I drew up this sketch for my basic idea of what I’ll be doing to the desk tops.
{I have a sketching addiction. Literally every thing I do I have to first draw up a sketch. I actually have a notebook where I’ve sketched out every room in our home… multiple times, multiple views, multiple designs. It makes me feel a little more confident to take the next step.}
PHOTOSHOP MOCK.UP
{I also have a photoshop mock.up addiction}
a. A while ago, I designed four manner prints and am going to move them near the desks
b. I plan to paint the desk tops with Martha Stewart’s chalkboard paint
c. I’m going to draw with a white paint pen, a dinner place setting on the desk top
d. Washi Tape legs
If this turns out even half as cute as my little mock.up then I will be thrilled.
